Organizational structure

The National Center for Interpretation and Translation (NCIT) is organized into 04 functional units under the direct leadership of the Board of Directors.

1. Board of directors

The Board of Directors consists of a Director General and Deputy Directors appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Director General reports to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, accepts responsibilities for all activities and decisions to exercise operational and financial autonomy of the Center.

Deputy Directors assist the Director General in managing and operating the Center as assigned and authorized by the Director General, and report to the Director General.

The Director General is responsible to introduce and execute the Center’s Regulations on Organization and Operation, ensure the completion of assigned functions and tasks.

2. Functional units

 NCIT comprises 04 functional units

a) The Division of English, responsible to provide English to Vietnamese and Vietnamese to English interpretation and translation services.

b) The Division of French and Other Languages, responsible to provide interpretation and translation services from Vietnamese to French and approximately 20 other foreign languages and vice versa.

c) The Division of Professional Training, responsible to pull together existing theories of interpretation & translation, develop plans for and organize training courses on interpretation and translation of foreign languages.

d) The Division of General Administration, responsible for clerical works, equipment, and finance, etc.

Heads and deputies of functional units are appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and in accordance to job requirements.

Payrolls of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the NCIT are approved by the Minister of Foreign Affairs according to annual and periodic plans as regulated for the public service providers of the Ministry.

In addition to the staff on the payroll, the Center is allowed to enter into labor contracts with Vietnamese citizens to perform the Center's operations in accordance with the laws.
